He won the Bram Stoker award once and was nominated another time. He's won the Canadian Aurora Award. There are others. he wrote erotica and stories for truckers supported by the trucking industry (yes, 2 different gigs). Some of his works were adapted for a television series starring Sarah Michelle Geller. He's almost been a household name more than once. Maybe he still will be. His compedium of short stories is being re-published to celebrate its 25 year anniversary. I started down the Doom road as I expected to focus on the horrors of his imagination.
