In this Torah portion, Isaac has a tea with Yahweh, after redigging the wells of his father Abraham. There are several issues recounted in Isaac’s life that remind us of his father, Abraham. There was a famine, a relocation, a lie and a king named Abimelech. This obvious pattern speaks to how one generation affects another generation either positively or negatively. Isaac experienced conflict over those wells, and just when he could have gotten discouraged, Yahweh appeared to him and confirmed His promise. He worshipped the LORD at the place where he received the promise. We will have opposition to the promise of God in our lives. We must choose to believe the power of His promise over every opposition. Yahweh keeps His promises and His promises are not for us only but for the generations. The blessing and the inheritance has to be secured through faith and obedience to the word of Yahweh.
