Mr. Willie Lyles is the Director of Safety and Mission Assurance for NASA's Johnson Space Center.
As Director, he manages a staff of 500 civil servants and contractors. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing Institutional safety activities for JSC’s more than 11,000 civil service and contractor employees and directs the safety and mission assurance activities for all human space flight programs and projects assigned to JSC. This includes the International Space Station (ISS), Commercial
Crew, Orion, Gateway and other programs and projects in support of space exploration.

Mr. Lyles shared what it is like working for NASA, some of the projects he has been apart of and how much he enjoys mentoring the youth.
