Betsy Wurzel’s guest on Chatting with Betsy is Dr. Paul Saba, a Canadian and American physician who has lived and practiced on both sides of the border as well as internationally in war-torn and underdeveloped countries. Presently my medical practice is in Montreal, Canada. Being a citizen of both countries has presented me with a unique experience to comment on what’s happening in Canada, the United States, and the world. “Medicare for all” is being debated during the Presidential elections. Despite the noble-sounding words, it is not the “cure-all” that will guarantee quality health care for all Americans. Canada’s healthcare system is an example of socialized medicine and is far from perfect. Dr. Paul Saba is also the author of “Made to Live which describes a physician’s journey to save lives and debunks the myths of abortion, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. The book describes the value of every life whether pre-born, after-birth or anytime along with life’s journey.
