Ep 2: Action
In this episode, we learn about the actions and strategy that stopped NRG in its tracks.
How We Stopped It is a three-part audio documentary that tells the story of how a small group of people came together to prevent an $8 billion corporation from building a fracked-gas peaker plant in Astoria, Queens. It is an all-too-uncommon story of victory in the fight against air pollution and climate change told from the perspectives of the people on the front lines of that fight.
Ep 3: A Drop In Astoria will be released at 4pm est on Saturday, August 5th
*Not officially affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America*
How We Stopped It is produced with original music by Noah Teachey. Special thanks to Jeffrey Dupont and endless gratitude to interviewees Sebastian Baez, Afnan Haq, Charlie Heller, Stylianos (Scott) Karolidis, Erica Landau, Thomas Niles, Elaine O'Brien, Shay O'Reilly, Nolen Phya, and Katie Talay.
