Angela, I LOVE this concept! I agree; our scars are a badge of honor, and we should appreciate them instead of taking on an "I'm so strong my scars don't show" kind of posture. I know what people *mean* when they say they don't look like what they've been through, but it's far better to embrace those things. After all, our experiences make us who we are.
