I killed a fish. I didn’t mean to. It was the last straw in a series of feeling helpless to make any change in the world right now. As an artist I feel so much. Covid-19 has been raging for months now. George Floyd is murdered and I feel for our Black community. I feel for the atrocities and racism against nations for centuries. I feel like whatever I say, doesn’t make a difference. I feel terrible I killed a fish. And then I thought, it’s ok to feel. As an artist I have a higher mission in my music and creativity to raise awareness, compassion, love and unity amongst humanity. And so I have shared some of my thoughts today on how all artists can do the same. Enjoy. xo, Gilli.
