PANDEMIC PILLOW TALK- New limited short-form web series tackles dating in a Covid world

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. This certainly proves to be true for filmmakers Summer Moore (creator, writer, lead actress) and Starr Session (producer). When Covid caused the world to lock down, these creative gals got busy building a new web series that chronicles and finds humor in the often painful experience of virtual dating in a new age. This series is produced, written, directed and edited by women!

“I felt that it was really important to write a series that incorporated women in as many character roles as possible, which was a challenge since it was about dating men. So you'll see them popping up throughout it. I also specifically put the language in there to focus on women, changing common sayings to make them feminine. We also wanted to give women editors a voice in comedy, because this is often overlooked. I'm very proud of all the hard work that has gone into this series and how it turned out!”- Summer Moore

Shot completely on iPhones by each cast member while at home on pandemic shutdown, the 9-episode PANDEMIC PILLOW TALK follows the daily dating routine of Mackenzie (Moore), a single woman hoping to find her true love. Unfortunately she finds out that there are way more frogs than handsome princes in the world of cyber dating. In each 5-7 minute episode, we eaves drop into what proves to be a very chaotic, pathetic, desperate and always hysterical experience for the hopeful romantic.

Making matters more complicated for Mackenzie are her wacky, over the top and always inappropriate parents, Buck and Bertha played wonderfully by Eric Roberts and his real life wife, Eliza Roberts. The overbearing couple often show up at the most inopportune times, injecting themselves in on the date while successfully embarrassing their daughter in front of a parade of would-be suitors.
