Join us for a conversation about de-colonizing narratives about immigration using the arts with the 2017 Massachusetts Art Educator in Higher Education award recipient and professor at Lesley University, Vivian...
mostra másCrossing Borders is an exhibition of work that examines personal perspectives on immigration by artists whose life and work have been shaped by this identity. This exhibition comes on the heels of longtime sociopolitical and economic disparities further intensified by recent policy threats to those over whom immigrant identities and current statuses, either their own or those of loved ones, loom large in daily life. The show features artists from many countries spanning a wide range of age and experience from high school and college students to professional artists.
Crossing Borders will be accompanied by a companion exhibition curated by junior visual artists at BAA with the co-chair of the visual art department Elizabeth Valentin. Crossing Borders was originally conceptualized and presented in its first iteration at Lesley University in Fall 2017.
Crossing Borders opening reception at Boston Arts Academy has is scheduled for Thursday March 15 from 5-7pm.
