God created you in Christ Jesus as a new creature, with a new identity as His beloved child. You are an entirely new person. (2 Corinthians 5:17) All that was related to your old life died with Christ and no longer lives – now you live in union as one with Him empowered by His faith – God’s Divine Persuasion! (Galatians 2:20, Hebrews 12:2) God in births His faith in you to extinguish and stop all the fiery darts of doubt the devil shoots at you. (Ephesians 6:16)
Doubt has been part of the spiritual landscape since the Garden of Eden. The serpent’s words to Eve were intended to plant a seed of doubt in the heart, which subtly called into question the goodness of God. The purpose then, as today was to challenge the trustworthiness and faithfulness of God. The serpent said to Eve, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’? “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:3,5)
The serpent was implying that God was withholding something good from Eve and God was selfish. He was also implying it’s bad to be withheld something the enemy wants you to believe would be good to have. So, he orchestrates circumstances to attack your believe in God to blind your mind to discern the truth. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
