mostra másAs the 1970s approached the “Junkyard” car became more sophisticated and more technology was used in the chassis and set up. This period of time is when the Visconti Motorsports Team started to excel in the racing world. Chassis set up, front end geometry and weight transfer became a huge part in making the cars work better and go faster. No longer was it how big your motor was, it was how fast your car can navigate that corner. Faster cornering speeds mean faster lap times.
The Late Model Sportsman division (now known as the NASCAR Xfinity Series) was where the Visconti Motorsports team started building, designing and maintaining the race cars that were considered State of the Art machines. No longer were we building the Junkyard chassis, but instead by the late 70s to mid-80s we had race chassis’ being built by outside companies to our specifications.
After winning countless races and achieving success in the divisions that we raced in, by 1985 it was time to take a break.
The Visconti Motorsports Team took a small break to decide now that our driver had retired which direction to go in.
Our future in NASCAR and continuing the legacy of Visconti Motorsport is our goal going forward.
