Josué 13: ¡Todavía queda mucho por hacer!

Josué 13:1‭-‬8 RVA2015:
Siendo Josué ya viejo y de edad avanzada, le dijo el SEÑOR: “Tú eres ya viejo y de edad avanzada, y queda todavía muchísima tierra por conquistar. Esta es la tierra que queda: “Todos los distritos de los filisteos y todo el de Gesur: Desde Sijor, al oriente de Egipto, hasta el territorio de Ecrón, al norte, que se considera de los cananeos; los cinco distritos de los filisteos (Gaza, Asdod, Ascalón, Gat y Ecrón) y la tierra de losaveos, al sur; toda la tierra de los cananeos, y desde Ara, que pertenece a los sidonios, hasta Afec, hasta la frontera de los amorreos; la tierra de los de Biblos; todo el Líbano al oriente, desde Baal-gad al pie del monte Hermón, hasta Lebo-hamat; todos los que habitan en la región montañosa desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot-maim, y todos los habitantes de Sidón. A todos estos yo los arrojaré de delante de los hijos de Israel. “Tú, pues, solo da la tierra por sorteo a Israel como heredad, como te he mandado. Reparte esta tierra como heredad entre las nueve tribus y la media tribu de Manasés; porque la otra mitad de esta tribu, los rubenitas y los gaditas ya recibieron su heredad, la cual les dio Moisés en el lado oriental del Jordán. Moisés, siervo del SEÑOR, se la dio

Aquí vemos a un Josué ya avanzado en edad, que ha dedicado todos los días de su vida peleando las batallas del Señor y conquistando la tierra prometida, batalla por batalla, y preparando lugar para las tribus de Israel.
Pero como la visión era grande y las fuerzas limitadas, llegó el tiempo donde Josué ya no podía conquistar más tierras por él mismo. Por eso Dios le dijo que ahora haga un sorteo y reparta por tribus las regiones que están pendientes por conquistar y que anime al pueblo a que sigan conquistando la tierra para que habiten en ella conforme el Señor le ha indicado.

Esto nos enseña a que los planes de Dios son a largo plazo pero también son muy grandes, que tal vez no veremos la obra completa de nuestra visión. Es por eso que los apóstoles siempre tenían discípulos bajo su cargo para entrenarlos en la labor misionera. En la actualidad también muchos misioneros llegan a una edad avanzada y siguen viendo cómo la iglesia se sigue expandiendo y creciendo, pero nunca la verán estancada o muerta porque muchos que vienen de la siguiente generación continuarán ese legado del trabajo que se hizo por años.

Quisiera que hoy nos visualicemos y que miremos cómo vamos a organizar nuestras vidas para que nuestros hijos continúen lo que hemos comenzado en nuestro servicio a Dios.
Piensa en esa persona que será la que te reemplace cuando, por alguna razón, ya no estés en la tierra.
¿Quién seguirá tu misión? ¿Quién mantendrá tu legado? No esperes a estar en una edad avanzada para pensar en esto. Capacita desde ahora a tu familia, tus hijos, para que ellos se conecten con la labor, que puedas transmitirles la pasión que tú sientes. Que lo que comenzaste alguien más lo expanda y lo perfeccione.
Josué y Caleb fueron un modelo a seguir y una motivación para la siguiente generación. ¿Estás tú haciendo lo mismo?

Pablo pasó su legado a Timoteo. Lo animó y lo afirmó en su llamamiento, y Timoteo fue fiel y siguió los pasos de su padre espiritual y mentores.
Leamos 1 Timoteo 6:11-12: "Pero tú, oh hombre de Dios, huye de estas cosas y sigue la justicia, la piedad, la fe, el amor, la perseverancia, la mansedumbre. Pelea la buena batalla de la fe; echa mano de la vida eterna a la cual fuiste llamado y confesaste la buena confesión delante de muchos testigos."

Y en momentos de dificultad Pablo siempre le daba palabras de fortaleza, recordándole su misión y visión. Leamos 2 Timoteo 1:6-8: “Por esta razón, te vuelvo a recordar que avives el don de Dios que está en ti por la imposición de mis manos. Porque no nos ha dado Dios un espíritu de cobardía sino de poder, de amor y de dominio propio. Por tanto, no te avergüences de dar testimonio de nuestro Señor ni de mí, prisionero suyo. Más bien, sé partícipe conmigo de los sufrimientos por el evangelio, según el poder de Dios.”

Recuerda preparar a tus hijos porque hay mucho por hacer para el reino de Dios.

Joshua 13: There is still much to do!

Joshua 13:1-8:
Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed. This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all that of the Geshurites, from Sihor, which is east of Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron northward (which is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines—the Gazites, the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites; from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorites; the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon as far as the entrance to Hamath; all the inhabitants of the mountains from Lebanon as far as the Brook Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians—them I will drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide it by lot to Israel as an inheritance, as I have commanded you. Now therefore, divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh.”
With the other half-tribe the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses had given them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord had given them:

Here we see a Joshua already advanced in age, who has dedicated all the days of his life fighting the battles of the Lord and conquering the promised land, battle by battle, and preparing a place for the tribes of Israel.
But since the vision was big and the forces limited, the time came when Joshua could no longer conquer any more lands by himself. That is why God told him to now give and divide the regions that are pending to be conquered by tribes and to encourage the people to continue conquering the land so that they may inhabit it as the Lord has indicated.

This teaches us that God's plans are long term but they are also very big, that we may not see the complete work of our vision. That is why the apostles always had disciples under their charge to train them in missionary work. Actually also many missionaries reach an advanced age and continue seeing how the church is expanding and growing, but they will never see it stagnant or dead because many who come from the next generation will continue that legacy of work that was done for years.

I would like us to visualize ourselves today and see how we are going to organize our lives so that our children continue what we have begun in our service to God.
Think of that person who will be the one to replace you when, for some reason, you are no longer on Earth.
Who will follow your mission? Who will uphold your legacy? Don't wait until you're old enough to think about this. From now on, train your family, your children, so that they connect with the work, so that you can transmit to them the passion that you feel. That what you started be expanded and perfected by someone else.
Joshua and Caleb were a role model and motivation for the next generation. Are you doing the same?

Paul passed on his legacy to Timothy. He encouraged and affirmed him in his calling, and Timothy was faithful and followed in the footsteps of his spiritual father and mentors.
Let's read 1 Timothy 6:11-12: “But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”


And in moments of difficulty Paul always gave him words of strength, reminding him of his mission and vision. Let's read 2 Timothy 1:6-8: “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,”

Remember to prepare your children becausee there is much to do for the kingdom of God.
