Josué 3: El que abre caminos en medio de las aguas.

Josué 3:1-8:
Josué se levantó muy de mañana y partió de Sitim con todos los hijos de Israel. Llegaron hasta el Jordán y pasaron allí la noche antes de cruzarlo. Después de tres días, los oficiales pasaron por en medio del campamento y mandaron al pueblo diciendo: —Cuando vean que el arca del pacto del SEÑOR su Dios es llevada por los sacerdotes y levitas, ustedes partirán de su lugar y marcharán en pos de ella, para que sepan el camino por donde han de ir; porque ustedes no han pasado antes por este camino. Pero entre ustedes y el arca habrá una distancia de unos novecientos metros. No se acerquen a ella.
Y Josué dijo al pueblo: —Purifíquense, porque mañana el SEÑOR hará maravillas entre ustedes.
Luego Josué habló a los sacerdotes diciendo: —Tomen el arca del pacto y pasen delante del pueblo.
Entonces tomaron el arca del pacto y fueron delante del pueblo. Y el SEÑOR dijo a Josué: —Desde este día comenzaré a engrandecerte ante los ojos de todo Israel, para que sepan que como estuve con Moisés, así estaré contigo. Tú mandarás a los sacerdotes que llevan el arca del pacto, diciendo: “Cuando hayan llegado hasta la orilla de las aguas del Jordán, se detendrán en el Jordán”.

En este capítulo vemos el primer paso de fe que el pueblo daba hacia la tierra prometida, cruzando el Jordán que actuaba como frontera de la tierra que debían conquistar, prometida por Dios.
¡Esto lo harían de forma milagrosa! Para mostrar su poder ante el pueblo y también para confirmar la autoridad de Josué como el elegido para guiar al pueblo, Dios revela a Josué su plan para hacerlos cruzar el río caudaloso del Jordán.
En ese tiempo que el río estaba con toda su fuerza, Dios decidió cruzar a su pueblo sin que se mojaran, de la misma forma que 40 años atrás lo hizo con los antepasados cruzándolos por el Mar Rojo, abriéndolo para que la multitud pasara de la esclavitud a la libertad. ¡Y en esta ocasión estaban pasando de la libertad a la plenitud!
Lo hermoso de este milagro es su representación para que nosotros podamos imitarlos.
Los sacerdotes llevaban el arca al frente del pueblo. El arca les abriría el camino perfecto y seguro para que cruzaran sin peligro. Una vez más Dios les abriría el camino donde ellos debían cruzar. ¡Los pies de los sacerdotes tocaron las aguas y las aguas se detuvieron río arriba! Las aguas se represaron y el pueblo pasó a salvo.

¡Qué hermoso es meditar en la forma en que Dios obra a favor nuestro! Por medio de milagros y maravillas Dios nos demuestra que Él todavía tiene el control de nuestras vidas, que nos guía por lugares inimaginables, usando estrategias que nadie había entendido antes y haciendo realidad lo imposible. ¡La Biblia dice que Dios es el mismo de ayer y de hoy!
Yo te animo para que clamemos al Dios de Israel, para que muestre su poder en nuestras vidas y en la de nuestras familias. Pero debemos ponerlo a Él primero, que Él esté delante de nosotros. Recuerda que el arca era un cofre donde estaban la ley, el maná y el bastón de Aarón adentro.
Si la Palabra de Dios va delante nuestro, si recordamos que el Señor es nuestro proveedor, y que Él hace cosas maravillosas, y que nos ha elegido y ungido como sus hijos, podemos vencer con confianza cualquier clase de obstáculo y atravesar cualquier mar de pruebas que se nos presente. Si te encuentras frente a un río impetuoso como el Jordán, clama a Aquel que abre camino en las aguas, como lo dijo el profeta Isaias en Isaías 43:16: “Así ha dicho el SEÑOR —el que abre camino en el mar, y senda en las aguas impetuosas;..”
Y también como lo dijo el profeta Miqueas en Miqueas 2:13: “El que abre camino subirá delante de ellos y abrirán brecha. Pasarán por las puertas y saldrán; su rey pasará delante de ellos, y a la cabeza de ellos irá el SEÑOR”.

Joshua 3: The one who opens paths in the middle of the waters.

Joshua 3:1-8:
Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over. So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp; and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.”
And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Then Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people.”
So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.
And the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan.’ ”

In this chapter we see the first step of faith that the people took towards the promised land, crossing the Jordan that acted as the border of the land they had to conquer, promised by God.
This they would do in a miraculous way! To show His power before the people and also to confirm Joshua's authority as the one chosen to lead the people, God reveals to Joshua His plan to get them across the mighty river of Jordan.
At that time when the river was at full force, God decided to cross His people without getting them wet, in the same way that 40 years ago He did with the ancestors crossing them through the Red Sea, opening it so that the multitude could pass from the slavery to freedom. And this time they were passing from freedom to fullness!
The beauty of this miracle is its representation so that we can imitate them.
The priests carried the ark to the front of the people. The ark would open the perfect and safe way for them to cross safely. Once again God would open the way for them where they had to cross. The feet of the priests touched the waters and the waters stopped upstream! The waters were dammed and the town passed safely.

How beautiful it is to meditate on the way God works on our behalf! Through miracles and wonders God shows us that He is still in control of our lives, guiding us through unimaginable places, using strategies that no one had understood before and making the impossible come true. The Bible says that God is the same yesterday and today!
I encourage you to cry out to the God of Israel, so that He shows His power in our lives and in that of our families. But we must put Him first, let Him be in front of us. Remember that the ark was a chest where the law, manna and Aaron's staff were inside.
If the Word of God goes before us, if we remember that the Lord is our provider, and that He does wonderful things, and that He has chosen and anointed us as His children, we can confidently overcome any kind of obstacle and pass through any sea of trials that comes our way. If you find yourself facing a mighty river like the Jordan, cry out to Him who makes a way in the waters, as the prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 43:16: “Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters,...”
And also as the prophet Micah said in Micah 2:13: “The one who breaks open will come up before them; they will break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it; their king will pass before them, with the Lord at their head.”
