Amy Hofland was born with a cleft lip and palate. But thanks to 21 surgeries over 21 years—and parents whose love knew no bounds—Amy became an executive, prolific educator and compelling speaker. All because her parents resourced their best for Amy’s health and well-being: their faith, their compassion, and their love.
“I am the seed of that compassion— a girl facing the world with a fearless heart," Amy proclaims.
Her journey never stopped her will to succeed. Today, Amy is the Executive Director of the Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas where she has overseen the growth of the museum to become a world-renowned Asian-focused museum of national acclaim.
Since accepting her leadership role in 2002, Amy has traveled across the globe, met with the Dalai Lama and President Bush, and inspired audiences to understand the importance of creating a more compassionate society. She recently led the Dallas Arts District’s signing of the International Charter for Compassion and Chairs the Dallas Arts District Board.
Listen to this moving story of a woman deemed for leadership. Amy openly tells her struggles and strong leadership lessons that now drive her commitment to help create a more compassionate world in which we work and live.
