Listen in to our first caller Victoria, whose parents want her to get a job although she is having difficulty finding one that she can balance with school. Nancy advises Victoria to discover what type of job would best match her schedule. Victoria can harness her skills and look at all possibilities for work. She can visit online job boards to find work that she can take pride in while satisfying both bills and her parents.
Our second caller is Karla, who feels as though she is not doing enough by being a full-time student and having a part-time job. Nancy tells Karla to diversify and dedicate time to several aspects of life instead of solely focusing on work and school. Karla can create more realistic expectations for herself. She can live in the moment and maximize the present.
Our inspirational guest is Sybil Bralley, who was hit by a vehicle and left severely injured with countless broken bones. Through the support of her husband, other family members, and her faith in God, Sybil was able to focus solely on healing. Despite her injuries, Sybil ridded herself of self-pity and achieved one goal at a time. Her experience has taught her to have a more positive outlook on life and live every day as if it is the last.
Our last caller is Ryan, who is having difficulty communicating with his roommate. Nancy instructs Ryan to be as effective and clear as possible in conversations. Ryan can ask his roommate to reiterate Ryan’s words to ensure that there is mutual understanding. He can take into consideration that it sometimes healthier to allow friendships to end.
Maybe you have experienced a period of difficulty and had trouble returning to a healthy state. Focusing on one goal at a time will allow you to reclaim your strength. By maintaining a positive attitude, you can progress towards recovery and live full out.
