Lilburn City Manager Jenny Simpkins announced today that Police Chief Bruce Hedley plans to retire after 12 years in the top position and 15 with the city.
His retirement is effective July 7, 2023. Hedley declined comment.
Then City Manager Bill Johnsa tapped Hedley for the position in April 2011 after the termination of former chief John Davison’s contract. The Lilburn native was the town’s deputy chief at the time but had been serving as interim police chief.
