The title is too heavy for most to carry. Mainly because most of us don't understand what keeping a pace is all about. Maybe we do it while working out in a gym or taking a walk with the dog. There's a chance you might tap into a pace during the holiday because family and friends have a way of allowing you to settle the hell down. Then on January 2nd you're back in the race. On this podcast I dive into the subject of how the wind is never caught by a tree but rather the limbs and leaves allow the wind to move through it. Since childhood I've always loved watching Willows in the wind. They bend in every direction without ever snapping. I'm not being negative but our careers, family life, circle of friends and whatever else we're doing have a unique grip of their own on how we're moving through life. Toss in some religion, spirituality or other forms of belief and now you've got to live up to those images. How can you live in the "Now" when your heart and head are endlessly fed the events of yesterday, how you were treated as a child or your early days of building a successful career? How do you handle the everyday stress caused by coworkers, constantly demanding bosses or breath stealing cycles of bad luck with the car, washer and dryer or refrigerator? The funniest thing about all of this is its the only thing we truly have control of. Your "Now." Sure tree limbs fall daily from trees crashing into cars, homes and into a million pieces on the street. The wind never finds reason to fight with the tree. Nor does the tree build a wall or mountain to keep it from whipping through it's process of delivering. Why are you any different than a black panther, cougar, kitten or ball of energy doing nothing but bringing something forward? In my daily writing today I wondered what it was like to be that kid taking his first step. How long did I stay on the floor or ground before I got back up? I was there when my Grandson rode his first bike. Ten minutes after he took off with a giant smile he returned with huge tears in his eyes, "I crashed." The words that came from me are still held, "You have to learn how to fall as well." Being mindfully present means letting all things move through you. You're hording enough junk in your house. Keep it away from your successes and struggles in life. Be in control by putting belief and awareness in your "Now."
