How many times did your parents accuse you of being too difficult? I heard it so much growing up that I learned to laugh about it. A parental figure reminding you of your actions and reactions is no different than a radio station program director calling the hot line "Hey that last talk break was pretty lame. Where is your focus? Do we need to set up a meeting to discuss the issue?" The one thing each of us have in common is a mind map. We carry with us a lot of weight caused by the effect of everything around us. I don't remember my parents or grandparents talking about having too much on their mind or never enough time to deal with issues. Being part of this social media world has turned each of us into headline hounds. I totally laugh out loud when someone writes about having to drop FaceBook and Twitter because it became too much to handle. We're addicted. Stand up and admit it to the circle of friends and family that have gathered. I've been a daily writer since 1994. A trick learned while studying the wisdom of Julia Cameron's The Artist Way. One problem. I write in the morning. What about the human stick figure at 4pm? Which is why I've disciplined myself to defrag. All that was once part of your workday or passing of time set free away from the mind body and soul headed into an evening that won't be protected by a strong heart. You're tired and there's too many great shows on NetFlix. Defrag. One to three pages of being incredibly honest with the core of your soul. That very part of body that will soon jump into bed and dream. What poisons that movie maker in your head? All the junk you keep storing. Defrag. You might actually find a sliver of love for your boss tomorrow.
