I am a mental health consumer sharing their own experience about some pretty disturbing ideas or possible occurrences happening in my intensive outpatient program. This following video / audio describes my experience with mistreatment in the mental health system. Transportation and food are necessities and this particular place boasts about providing these two things along with treatment. At a glance they are wonderful accompaniments and amenities. However I could be experiencing them being used against me or as I kind of psychological torture tactic.
Again this is my own experience. Many people in the mental health system are probably being treated very well. But in any Byzantine bureaucratic system, people are likely to be neglected or abused in it.
