Flowers for many years was a 5-Point Calvinist until he came head to head with various Bible verses that deal with soteriology, which is the doctrine of biblical salvation. I became interested in speaking with him after watching a video where he systemically dismantled John MacArthur's false teachings on salvation, doing it in a plain, rational, biblical and non-emotional format which greatly appealed to me. Too many times Christians will get emotional and passionate about defending their heros, overriding biblical truth in the process.
