Well, the week started quietly, but now the first domino has fallen and the MLB offseason is about to get into full swing. The New York Yankees opened up the...
mostra másThe New York Yankees opened up the week by inking their new manager to a deal. Aaron Boone, former Yankee and ESPN analyst, was hired to be the 35th manager of the Yankees and the 8th to wear the pinstripes during his playing career. Did the Yankees get the right man or was there a better choice out there?
Less than a week later, GM Brian Cashman once again rocked the baseball world in a blockbuster trade that brought the reigning National League Most Valuable Player in Giancarlo Stanton to New York. Cashman and former Yankee great, and current part owner of the Miami Marlins, Derek Jeter worked together to get Stanton, and his $295 million contract, off of the Marlins' payroll and up to the Bronx Bombers. Does this make the Yankees the AL favorite this year?
Plus, the Los Angeles Angels made a surprising signing this week as Japanese phenom, and 2 way player, Shohei Otani signed with the team. Manager Mike Scioscia has said he will work to use Otani both as a pitcher and a fielder. What does this do for the Angels chances of becoming a consistent AL contender?
All that plus Dee Gordon is off to Seattle and the first 2 names of the Hall of Fame Class of 2018 have been announced. Who are they? You'll find out this week on Out of Left Field.
