Devotional Message:
Scripture: “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” – Isaiah 48:10 (NIV)

God never wastes pain. In Isaiah 48:10, He speaks of refining His people—not to destroy them, but to purify and prepare them. Just as fire removes impurities from metal, the furnace of affliction is often where God does His deepest work in us. It may feel uncomfortable, but it is purposeful.

When life gets intense and trials seem unending, remember: you’re being refined for a greater purpose. God is shaping your character, building endurance, and aligning your heart with His. He allows the heat not to consume you, but to transform you into someone who can carry His glory and walk in your calling with humility and strength.

Refinement isn’t punishment—it’s preparation. God sees the gold within you, and He’s committed to drawing it out. So even in the fire, trust His hand and lean into His process. What feels like breaking may actually be the making of who He’s called you to be.

Today, ask yourself: Am I resisting the refining process, or am I trusting God to use it for His purpose in my life?

Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank You for refining me, even when it’s hard. Help me to trust You in the fire and believe that You are shaping me for something greater. Use every trial to prepare me for Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
