Welcome to the 2nd Sunday in April 2023, Resurrection Sunday, aka Easter.
Hosanna the previous Sunday. Passover celebration converted to the Last Supper the following Thursday.
On Friday - Crucify Him - day 1.
On Saturday - dead & buried in a borrowed tomb - day 2.
On Sunday - resurrected from the dead with all power in His hands - day 3.
The case for the resurrection of Jesus.
1. Empty grave
2. Witnessed by many women
3. Variations from the 4 Gospels - different perspectives of the same event
4. Initial unbelief of the disciples
5. Witness of over 500 people
6. Transformation of the disciples from cowards to conquerors (resurrection power)
7. Miracles in my life – I know my Savior lives
Resurrection power is the spirit of the LORD, the Holy Spirit.
OT Examples – Isaiah, David, Samson, Elijah, & Gideon
Whatever you are going through pray from a position of victory.
Joh 16:33 NASB "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."
How did He overcome the world? By resurrection power!
How will you and I overcome our circumstances? By resurrection power!
How will we live our lives from this day forward? With resurrection power!
There is resurrection power in the hands of a Christian. Know the power you have in your hands... because of who you have in your heart, Jesus Christ who has given us the spirit of the living God, the Holy Spirit.
