Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot if you would like to view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the Eight of Pentacles, focusing on reversals. First, let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then the meaning when reversed.
The Eight of Pentacles upright card represents dedication, hard work, and the commitment to mastering a craft or skill. It's about putting in daily effort to improve and refine your abilities.
When reversed, it often suggests a lack of focus or dedication. You may feel unmotivated, distracted, or bored with your current tasks.
The reversed Eight of Pentacles highlights the potential for burnout or dissatisfaction with your work. It could suggest that you're either putting too much pressure on yourself to be perfect or losing sight of the value in what you're doing. Next, let's discuss ways to approach this card in a reading.
When the Eight of Pentacles reversed shows up in a reading, it's a sign that you may need to take a step back and reassess your approach to work or personal development. This card encourages you to reconnect with what truly inspires you. Rather than getting caught up in the grind, take a moment to consider whether your current path aligns with your long-term goals.
This card may also indicate a need for better focus. If you've been jumping from task to task without fully committing, now is the time to hone in on one or two key areas that need your attention. It's a reminder that spreading yourself too thin can lead to burnout and dissatisfaction.
My reversed Eight of Pentacles moment was the learning curve of transitioning from classroom training to video. The truth is, I loved learning the software and the creative aspect of building videos. However, starting anything new takes time. As I presented digital files to clients for review, they would ask if I could make the video move in different ways. So many ideas led to long nights on Google, looking up how to make the video do things. I was often working on a series of training videos simultaneously. Therefore, I was learning to manage my work differently. For example, I would create a new video while managing edits from others I already made. In truth, I love what I do. But it was a big learning curve and I was unsure if I was on the right path. I had to look at it differently. I decided to spend some time learning how to manage a digital workload, and that helped me keep my work organized. I was able to find my focus. I decided that learning how to build digital training was the right path, as it would give me more flexibility and a different outlet for creativity and passive income. Once I reassessed my goals, I haven't looked back.
Thank you for joining me in exploring the Eight of Pentacles reversed. This card reminds us to stay dedicated to what matters and to be mindful of burnout and the need for balance. Of course, to memorize tarot, keep practicing tarot. As you listen to these three-minute lessons, you will consistently remember the symbolism that applies across different cards in the deck. Thank you for listening. Join us for more three-minute lessons to memorize more cards.
