Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck
=======================
I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning tarot, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. I earn a small referral commission from these links from Amazon.

About Carrie and  @QuickLearnQuests
===============================
I have been reading tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Here is the transcript:

Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the King of Cups, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed.

The King of Cups upright represents emotional mastery, compassion, and the ability to navigate difficult emotions with calm and control. He leads with both heart and head, showing empathy while maintaining balance.

However, when the King of Cups is reversed, you may find yourself lacking emotional control at this time. Or, you might be dealing with someone else who is emotionally manipulative or unstable.  Court Cards often represent people, so these traits may belong to you or someone you know. The reversed King of Cups often points to overwhelming emotions, which can look like suppressed emotions for some people, and outbursts for others. This card urges you to examine how you handle these feelings, whether for you or someone you know.

So what does that mean when we see the King of Cups reversed in a reading? When the King of Cups reversed appears in a reading, emotions are either ignored or mismanaged. It is time to work on restoring balance in your life and addressing the cause of the stress. It can also point to someone in your life who is emotionally unpredictable or manipulative. If you're dealing with such a person, the King of Cups reversed advises to set clear boundaries to protect your well-being and not getting caught up in their emotional drama.

So, how do you memorize this reversed meaning of the card?  Tying the card to a personal experience helps me remember it. For example, my reversed King of Cups moment was an old friend who brought a lot of drama to my life.  I had known her for most of my life, but we began hanging out when I was in my thirties.  She was a lot of fun.  She was charismatic, funny, and someone that people were quickly drawn to.  However, she was also one of those people who drank too much, made horrible decisions, and then needed lots of time to complain and regret those actions.  I am someone with a lot of earth in their chart, and I found the process exhausting, It took me about a year to back away without causing more drama.  I remember her fondly for the good times, but I am happy to be off her speed dial.

Remember, the key to mastering tarot is practice. As you listen to these three-minute lessons, the cards' symbolism will become more ingrained in your memory. Thank you for tuning in. Keep practicing and join us for more three-minute lessons to memorize more cards. Your dedication and effort will surely pay off, leading you to a deeper understanding of the tarot.
