Significantly. For approximately 8 weeks, 4000 members of a Transcendental Meditation group arrived in Washington and meditated. Sometimes there were more of them, sometimes less. They came when they could and stayed as long as they could to conduct the experiment. The results shocked everyone (except the meditators). All types of crime, violent and non-violent, dropped 15% - 24% during that period. Civic records were scanned as far back as possible to see if the massive drop had ever happened before, or if there could be any other explanation. It hadn't and there wasn't.
