Goal: Learning About and Following Jesus. Christianity 101: Understanding and Applying God's Word Today

Our Mission: communicate in everyday language the Word of God in a conversation between a father and his daughter.

GOD'S Plan; GOD'S purpose; GOD'S Preparation; GOD'S Power; GOD'S Provision which is manifested by GOD'S People Praying, Petitioning, and Praising by Proclaiming GOD'S Prophetic Promises!

When the Day of Christ had fully come, GOD the Father set about restoring HIS earth to its rightful owners, HIS children. Mankind had given earthly authority away through a sinful act, disobedience; restoration must be made through a perfect blood sacrifice to redeem mankind. Righteous people were selected; prophesies declared; prophesies fulfilled.. GOD'S plan set in motion.

Luke 1: In the time of Herod king of Judea, a priest named Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth, who was a daughter of Aaron, were righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and decrees of the Lord. Elizabeth was barren, and both of them were well along in years. While Zechariah’s was serving as priest before God, the whole congregation was praying outside. An angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear.

The Birth of Jesus : (Isaiah 7:10-16; Micah 5:1-6; Luke 2:1-7)

Isaiah 7: 13 Then Isaiah said, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and she will call Him Immanuel.
Micah 5: But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, (there were many towns called Bethlehem) who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me One to be ruler over Israel, whose origins are of old, from the days of eternity.
He will stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD,
in the majestic name of the LORD His God. And they will dwell securely,
for then His greatness will extend to the ends of the earth.
Note: Not as Jews but as Children of GOD!
Matthew 1:15 Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Mary’s Song: Then Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For He has looked with favor on the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is His name. His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things, but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful, as He promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his descendants forever.”
Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.
The Birth of John the Baptist: When the time came for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they rejoiced with her. On the eighth day, when they came to circumcise the child, they were going to name him after his father Zechariah. But his mother replied, “No! He shall be called John.” They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who bears this name.” So they made signs to his father to inquire what he wanted to name the child. Zechariah asked for a tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they were all amazed. Immediately Zechariah’s mouth was opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak, praising God.

No doubt Zechariah’s testimony was told and retold and spread throughout the area, giving GOD the glory. John was a miracle child. He was told so many times. He will need this foundation for the enormous work GOD has for him!

All their neighbors were filled with awe, and people throughout the hill country of Judea were talking about these events. And all who heard this wondered in their hearts and asked, “What then will this child become?” For the Lord’s hand was with him. And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the wilderness until the time of his public appearance to Israel.
