Milicent Patrick (c.1915-1998) was an actress and special effects artist who created the iconic “Gill-man” from the classic film Creature of the Black Lagoon. Though her credits on many movies were lost due to being blacklisted, her effect on Universal Studios’ monster lineup is indelible. For Further Reading:
