Back when prosthetics were carved from wood. People didn't have the same perceptions of amputees as this Toyota commercial made it appear on Super Bowl Sunday.

Amputees were viewed as freaks, less of a person, not whole and broken. I sat watching these commercials and could not help think are people more accepting of amputees these days or is this more about making money using well know amputees and celebrities playing amputees? As an amputee and an advocate for the amputees, I find this an interesting topic to discuss so that amputees have a voice in these matters because I think sometimes the few (most popular) are considered and all amputees are included. I am sure there are a lot of feelings and opinions on this subject.
