In my early years, I experienced a childhood filled with adversity. Poverty cast a shadow, making it a daily struggle to meet our basic needs. Hunger was a constant companion, and neglect left me feeling isolated and alone. The specter of abuse added to the weight I carried, both physically and emotionally. To make matters worse, it seemed that ridicule and mockery followed me at every turn. I faced an agonizing ordeal that no one, especially a child, should ever endure being raped and molestade. This unspeakable trauma left me with wounds that ran deep, inflicting pain and suffering beyond words. The scars of these experiences were not just physical but emotional and psychological. They left me grappling with a profound sense of shame, guilt, and confusion. The weight of this traumatic past loomed over me, affecting every aspect of my life.
It was in the midst of these darkest hours that I found my sanctuary in God and faith. In the shelter of my unwavering belief, I began a journey of healing and recovery. Faith provided me with the strength to confront the demons of my past, to face the pain and scars head-on, and to find a path towards healing and transformation.
Today, I stand before you, not just as a survivor but as a testament to the incredible power of faith to mend even the deepest of wounds. My journey is one of resilience, hope, and the ability to rise above the most devastating of circumstances. While the scars may remain, they no longer define me; they serve as a reminder of my strength and my capacity to heal.
I stand before you today to call attention to the remarkable strength of women who have endured trauma. We’ve faced the unimaginable and yet, we are here, standing tall and unbroken.
I am a survivor, and I am stronger than my past. Despite the challenges I have faced, I refuse to be defined by my trauma. I embrace my journey of healing with courage, compassion, and resilience. I acknowledge the pain I have endured, but I refuse to let it consume me. I am worthy of love, joy, and inner peace, and I am committed to reclaiming my power. Through self-compassion and forgiveness, I release the grip of trauma on my life and pave the way for healing and growth. I am resilient, I am empowered, and I am capable of creating a life filled with purpose and possibility. I rise strong from the ashes of my past, and I embrace the journey of empowerment with open arms.
Together, we are living proof that there is life after trauma and that is what Emerge and Empower is about.
