'Sober Chi' is here & it's here to stay!
Paul has an amazing story of recovery (30+ years, I might add!!) that is anchored and paralleled by his 30 years of Tai Chi.
Paul's life was falling apart in the late 80s, and his body was in a really unhealthy spot - which he assumed was to do with his drinking. After a year of sobriety, his poor health condition remained until one day someone suggested he may have Lyme Disease.
This was the case! The medical professionals were able to track the Disease to 1989, so he had been living with it for a few years by the time he found out.
Tai Chi, and its many health benefits, have been a huge factor in Paul's ability to live and thrive despite Lyme Disease.
In his own words:
"30 plus years sober, chef, Tai Chi Guy, Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead-head, music lover, lover of animals( including people), outdoors, art history, books, sculpture, photography, FUN
advanced."
Paul has some wonderful analogies (wait for the Softball analogy!) and some excellent insight into what 30+ years sober looks and feels like.
This is a great interview - I imagine you will enjoy it as much as I did!
I highly recommend giving Paul a follow on IG!!
