This week we review and discuss Sinners, a period horror movie directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld and Miles Caton, about twin brothers in 1930s Mississippi who return to their hometown to start again, only to be confronted by a supernatural evil.

We discuss our reaction to the film's portrayal of Jim Crow era Black American culture, we try to make sense of the metaphor surrounding Blues music and the vampires, whether Sinners is as accessible to general audiences as it could or should be, what this means for Black cinema going forward, and much more.
