Star Trek - Strange New Worlds - Children of the Comet - Movie Gathering at the Monastery with David Hoffmeister
The beautiful thing about mysticism is that once you have had One recognition, your experience will start to move in the direction of gentleness, and the One recognition you have to have to move in that direction is I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts.
People aren't really people! If you're upset with certain relationships, politicians, or things happening in the world, you just haven't yet embraced the idea. When you identify with your attack thoughts, you can expect intensity, drama, conflict, fear, and doubt, and when you start to realize that this world is a world of thought, your purpose is to forgive those thoughts and disengage from them. Then you move into what Jesus calls the work; I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts, and that's what the mystical journey is about.
