Descripción
Hockey Talk with NHL Historian/Author Liam Maguire and Go Hockey Media's Paul C. Cuthbert. Step up to the bar and let's talk some hockey! It's time for Sticks and Taps....
mostra másOn today's show, after the lads briefly open up with how they celebrated their St. Patricks's Day under the new rules of social distancing, Liam takes us back in time to the origin of the hockey hand-shake line and the possibility that we might not see it return when the puck drops once again. Along the journey of this discussion we find out when and by who, a lot of modern hockey's rules and gameplay were first created by the likes of names of Art Ross and Lester Patrick. There's also some handshake line stories from great series in the past and thoughts on what the league might be like without this tradition in the future.
Liam and Paul wrap up the show with their toast of the week with an Irish song. They go out with another classic Irish standard performed by the Clancy Brothers and Liam tells the story of the origin of "Johnson's Motor Car."
Thanks for listening everyone. Slainte!
