Wow here we are! Google Maps says this is where we’re supposed to be. A huge moon in the sky at 4:30 this morning. The stars acting like an incredible backup band. And we get an extra hour of sleep this weekend? The little things make beautiful days! Gratefulness doesn’t just happen. It needs to be practiced. It needs to be activated and if you don’t show up then you need to be held accountable. All the things that make you grateful require energy from a different source and it needs to be recognized. We’ve made it too easy to locate everything that’s wrong in the world. Too much of our time is spent trying to repair what we’ve declared broken. I get it! Nobody wants to be looked upon as being a thrift shop. Who wants to be second hand news or an antique road show? We are convinced that every day is supposed to be new and improved. Yet we keep eating the same food. Watching the same television shows and complaining about the very things we did one to two years ago without investing anytime in helping to change it. You do realize there’s gonna come a day when we’ll meet for coffee and one of us is going to ask, “Do you remember eighteen years ago when that Covid 19 shut down the planet” What we’re allowing ourselves to live out daily is food for an already poisoned self. Changing your lifestyle means being aware of what you say not only to yourself but others! It’s too easy to be a Debbie Downer. Insert bad news here and then point a finger at who we assumed put us in that state of mind. Umm winning is a choice. So is sitting around complaining about politics, religion and a pandemic. Every person around us is built the same. Gotta get us some negative. It’s easier to complain then it is to change. I’m not embarrassed to say that the current state of the world put me behind a cash register at a grocery store. I get to talk with you. Listen to your stories. Laugh a lot and send you home in a better mood. A man said to me yesterday, “You must be new here. All this positive energy will soon wear off.” Not a negative. It’s awareness. A reminder to keep the ship moving forward. Being on the radio kept me away from your facial expressions. Being at a grocery store makes memories that can be carried into future conversations. Maybe this really is my dream job. If you could only feel the experience when a grumpy tired person steps up and within a minute or two we’re talking like two best friends. Find your real dream job. Careers are what we did before Covid 19 shut down everything.
