The water temperature is around 69 degrees, and the lake is slightly below pool level at 0.28 feet. The water is stained, which can make for good fishing conditions.
### Weather and Time
Sunrise today is at about 6:55 AM, and sunset will be around 5:05 PM. The weather has been cooler, which has significantly improved the fishing bite.
### Fish Activity
Striped bass fishing is excellent right now. Early in the day, topwaters are highly effective along gravel shorelines near main lake points. As the day progresses, live bait in 35-45 feet of water on deep flats is producing great results. Birds are still a good indicator of feeding striped bass, so follow them and cast slabs beneath[1][2][3].
Crappie fishing is picking up, with jigs and small shad working well under dock floats and along the tops of brush piles in 6-12 feet of water. Electronics can help locate active fish suspended throughout the brush.
Catfishing is also improving with the inflow of water. Look for deeper flats near the river inlets in 25-40 feet of water and use cut shad or whole gizzard shad for bigger fish.
### Best Lures and Bait
For striped bass, use topwaters early in the day, and switch to live bait or slabs as the day goes on. Swimbaits are also effective, especially when imitating the natural movement of baitfish[1][2][4].
For crappie, jigs and small shad are the way to go. For catfish, cut shad and whole gizzard shad are producing good results.
### Hot Spots
One of the hot spots is around the main lake points and gravel shorelines, especially early in the day for striped bass. Another good area is the deep flats near the river inlets for both striped bass and catfish. The Little Mineral Arm of the lake is also a good spot for crappie, focusing on brush piles and docks[1][2][3].
Overall, Lake Texoma is in great shape for fishing right now, with plenty of active fish and various effective methods to catch them.
