Who is Zaakirah Muhammad?
Zaakirah Muhammad has been storytelling through photography, writing, film, and podcasting for the last two decades. As a second-generation entrepreneur, she advocates for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, identifying as a visually impaired, hard of hearing, cancer survivor, and chronically ill Muslim woman. Zaakirah aims to build aesthetically appealing online presences while advising on and implementing effective branding and marketing tactics to generate impact and engagement. She focuses on telling brand stories to achieve a return on investment and brings clarity and ease to existing systems. Whether providing brand, event, or marketing strategy, she holds clients accountable and enhances their visual presence to be more personable, professional, and consistent. Zaakirah supports women entrepreneurs in stepping outside their comfort zones, clarifying their purpose, and avoiding headaches through coaching, photography, and brand strategizing. She captures the essence of humanity, inspired by her journey that began when a photo taken by her mother at nine months old detected eye cancer and saved her vision. Given her first camera at age five and a digital camera in middle school, she studied commercial photography in technical high school and later expanded her professional education in Washington, D.C. Zaakirah also holds a certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from eCornell University.
