This past January (2020), 15-year-old rising star Dayton Varga passed away unexpectedly due to suicide. On the field, Dayton — an offensive playmaker — made Saskatchewan's U16 team as a 14-year-old. His talent was recognized on both sides of the border.

His mother, Jenn Varga, speaks of the impact Dayton made in the Saskatchewan football community. We also discuss how the Varga family has dealt with the grieving process, the resources - or lack thereof - that they have accessed or would like to be able to access, and what the future holds.

We appreciate this valuable insight to this important issue and hope that others may learn and get the help they need if they are in a similar situation.
