A Deserted Mansion... In part 1 of "Kerfol", our narrator goes to visit an old semi-fortified mansion in Brittany, at the suggestion of his friend Lanrivain. He is impressed by its age and the sense of history it exudes. No guardian or owners appear, but he is met by a pack of assorted dogs which are mysteriously quiet.
