Manfred says “ Owners are 100% committed to getting baseball season going, unfortunately I cant tell you that im 100% certain that its going to happen.” Ken Rosenthall and Evan Drellich of the Athletic report that there are more than 8 owners amongst the 30 who do not want the season to take place. BUT they are now seemingly closer to a deal after Manfred and Clark met in person.

Phillies, Blue Jays closing spring training facilities after positive coronavirus tests

The Philadelphia Phillies are closing their spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida, after five players and three staff members tested positive for the coronavirus, the team announced. Sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan that the Toronto Blue Jays also shut down their spring training facility in Dunedin on Thursday after a player exhibited coronavirus symptoms.
*** This can’t be a good sign for negotiations, this was one of the major concerns for both sides. Protection for players and a second wave for owners. WONDER How this will affect an already dicey situation.

Albert Pujols - Announces that he will be paying the Salaries of ALL the LAA’s Furloughed staff in the Dominican Republic for 5 months.

Scott Boras - More Scott Boras news… MLB Execs and Owners believe Boras’ influence has been detrimental in their attempts to reach an agreement for the 2020 season.
“I represent a number of players who sit on boards and panels. I’ve got 15 guys who are making $25 million to $35 million a year. These guys have big voices. Let them speak. A lot of times the players don’t agree with the direction the union takes.’’

HOWEVER, Several players who ARENT represented by Boras CONFIRM that he has played a role in their negotiations. Some are even annoyed with his participation. Others… have expressed their gratitude.
Trever Bauer sayes… “Hearing a LOT of rumors about a certain player agent meddling in MLBPA affairs. If true — and at this point, these are only rumors — I have one thing to say... Scott Boras, rep your clients however you want to, but keep your damn personal agenda out of union business.”

NFL -
Several players have been found to have tested positive for Covid including 13 players at Texas University and Ezekiel Elliot. All of Cowboy Nation has taken a step back and hope that he has a full recovery. There have been statements made already that are talking about cancelling the NFL season. Could this stem back to the “gathering” that Dak had? The good thing is… Dez has tested Negative for Covid… the ONE TIME that its cool that Dez DIDNT Catch it! - Big shout out to my boy Matt from MoVal for that one.

Quick Quiz,,, Who are the ONLY 2 NFL players EVER with 200+ Tackles, 10+ Sacks, and 25+ Pass Breakups within the FIRST 3 seasons. Jamal Adams … AND…

Jamal Adams is ready to bail on the Jets… Cowboys the front runner, HOWEVER they are not going to pay the high price that the Jets are looking for. Will this trade happen? Or where else do you think he is going. Ravens, Texans, KC, Philly, Cisco and Seahawks are who is in the mix.

TB12 and Gronk show off the new TB Unis… Reactions?

Chargers are in mix to sign Kap, according to reports.. Are the best place for him to go. Charges did draft QB Justin Herbert from Oregon 6th overall. How does this rumor sit with Herbert? He was drafted to be Rivers replacement. Raiders owner has green lit and given team permission to sign Kap. Will he be signed?

Statue of former Redskins owner George Preston Marshall removed from RFK Stadium

The statue of former Washington Redskins owner George Preston Marshall, who was forced to integrate his franchise in the early 1960s, was removed from outside of RFK Stadium on Friday morning.
"This symbol of a person who didn't believe all men and women were created equal and who actually worked against integration is counter to all that we as people, a city, and nation represent.”

NFL awards Las Vegas a Pro Bowl, which might be one way to rejuvenate the game
Las Vegas lost the NFL draft when a public health crisis hit the world, but the NFL is still full steam ahead with promoting its newest market.
The NFL announced that the next Pro Bowl will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, on January 31, 2021.

NASCAR Says It Will Ban Confederate Flags
The announcement came two days after Darrell Wallace Jr., the first black driver in 50 years to win one of NASCAR’s top three national touring series, called on NASCAR to ban the flags outright. Thus becoming the latest organization to reconsider the emblem’s place amid a national reckoning over racism and white supremacy after the death of George Floyd. “The presence of the Confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry”
NCAAF - WELCOME HOME REGGIE BUSH!! Bush was welcomed back to USC after 10 year NCAA Ban. Bush said, “ Ive dreamed of this day for 10 plus years”, he added “and Im excited to come home”.

NBA - Big questions in the NBA loom.

Will there be an NBA season? VP Kyrie Irving thinks the time to stand right for social activism is now. Thinks there shouldn’t be any basketball played.

Says that the players should/could start their own league.
In a recent chat group with Nets players, Kyrie Irving lobbied for skipping the bubble, the Daily News has learned. In that chat, he also proposed that the players can start their own league
In response to a statement from Irving and Bradley’s coalition that likened the restart plan to a system of “use and abuse,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver acknowledged the reboot of his sport “won’t be for everyone.”

Players have until June 24 to notify their teams that they’d prefer not to play in Orlando. Irving doesn’t have to because he isn’t going to play either way after undergoing shoulder surgery in March. Players who do not play will forfeit 1/93rd of the money owed to them on their contracts for every game they miss unless they are granted a medical exemption.

Seems like the players are a little divided on this.
The King, Lebron says he wants to play and so do many others.
Interesting that his nemesis said, The King has spoken.
Where do they go from here?
