I pick up on people's vocal tones all too quickly. I listen for pace, structure, pitch and how each thought is harmonically delivered. It's how I measure the atmosphere so that my heart can prepare. I'm not saying vocal tones are a sure bet on how a person is presently feeling. It gives me an open door to asking about the day. Candy coasted bathroom mirror plastic smiles are blanketing our shape of communication. We need to re-learn how to build newer ways to being real with each other.
