The Kentucky Meat Shower is a perplexing event that occurred for several minutes between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on March 3, 1876. Chunks of red meat fell from the sky on farmland in a 100-by-50-yard area near Olympia Springs in Bath County, Kentucky. There are several possible explanations as to how this occurred and what the "meat" was, but the exact type of meat was never identified. Reports suggested it was beef, lamb, deer, bear, horse, or possibly human. The exact cause of the Kentucky meat shower remains a subject of speculation and mystery.
