Convicted of theft by two prosecutors and his career ruined, Eric Williams plotted revenge with his wife, then made an anonymous call to mislead the authorities.On January 31, 2013, Mark Hasse, 57, assistant chief prosecutor for Kaufman County, Texas, was shot and killed around 9 AM while walking to the courthouse. Jason Stastny, then an officer with the Kaufman Police Department, was responding to a theft just a few blocks away and rushed to assist after hearing two gunshots followed by three more. Mark was pronounced dead at the scene, having been shot multiple times, including in the face. Police confirmed that the gunman used a revolver.
