Are you a winner? The writer of Hebrews 12 compares our lives to a race and tries to convey and convince us that we must run with endurance if we plan to finish this life well.
What a blessing to know that we can lose the dead weight of life’s baggage. What a joy to welcome those watchers who wish us evil and failure and who actually wish us well--knowing God is watching us through it all. What a privilege to know that God has called us to strengthen and lift up our hands while we walk even though the race is not yet over. And what a reassurance to know that even when we can’t walk or lift our hands that God’s grace is made perfect in our weakness, that God holds us up and preserves us, and that God has already won our victory!
