Okay. I finally listened to this woman’s performance. So now I can honestly speak about it. As annoying as her voice may be understand it’s possibly exaggerated and just a character she does while doing standup. Fran Drescher is also know for her annoying voice but she’s so beautiful and talented as well as funny so she gets a pass. Phyllis Diller, Selma Diamond, Joan Rivers and many many other female comedians are know for their scratchy high pitched voices. She was in a difficult spot doing jokes that have to be current and probably never used again. I don’t think by any means it was the best spot ever but certainly not the worst. Larry Wilburn last year had one of the worst. Also keep in mind the sound at C-Span is not the best and designed for stand up comedy in large rooms. All that being said I understand how you feel. She missed on some stuff and some stuff was below the belt and all that. I also feel as a pragmatic, this entire event is useless and ridiculous. It’s unnecessary. Who knows what goes on there other than the stand up comedy? That’s my unbiased opinion based on my time as a stand up and as a human being who understand what it’s like to struggle in a tight spot.
