Hr: Mateo je hodao starim stazama Dioklecijanove palače, diveći se povijesnim zidinama koje su ga okruživale.
En: Mateo walked along the ancient paths of Diocletian's Palace, admiring the historical walls surrounding him.

Hr: Bilo je jesen, a hladan zrak dopirao je kroz visoke lukove, donoseći miris mora.
En: It was autumn, and the cold air wafted through the high arches, carrying the scent of the sea.

Hr: Uz njega je koračala Petra, njegova prijateljica iz djetinjstva, s osmijehom koji je osvjetljavao svaki kut palače.
En: Walking beside him was Petra, his childhood friend, with a smile that lit up every corner of the palace.

Hr: „Što ćeš kupiti svojoj baki?
En: "What will you buy for your grandmother?"

Hr: “ upitala je, pogledavajući veselo pored staje.
En: she asked, glancing cheerfully at the nearby stalls.

Hr: Mateo je slegnuo ramenima, zabrinut raznolikošću suvenira.

Hr: „Ne znam,“ priznao je Mateo, pomalo frustriran.
En: "I don't know," Mateo admitted, somewhat frustrated.

Hr: „Sve izgleda divno, ali što će ju najviše razveseliti?
En: "Everything looks wonderful, but what will make her the happiest?"

Hr: “Dok su šetali, uočili su mali dućan.
En: As they walked, they spotted a small shop.

Hr: Iznutra ih je dočekala Anja, nasmijana prodavačica toplih očiju.
En: Inside, they were greeted by Anja, a smiling saleswoman with warm eyes.

Hr: Dućan je bio pun predmeta s lokalnim motivima, no među njima Mateo nije mogao naći ništa posebno.
En: The shop was full of items with local motifs, yet among them, Mateo couldn't find anything special.

Hr: Bio je očaran njenom sposobnošću da svakom predmetu pridoda priču.
En: He was fascinated by her ability to add a story to each item.

Hr: „Tražite li nešto posebno?
En: "Are you looking for something special?"

Hr: “ upitala je Anja, osjetivši njegovu dvojbu.
En: Anja asked, sensing his dilemma.

Hr: Mateo je kimnuo i ponovio svoju želju.
En: Mateo nodded and repeated his wish.

Hr: Anja se nasmiješila i posegnula za tapiserijom koja je visila na zidu.

Hr: Ručno je rađena.

En: he asked, but the price startled him.

En: she suggested.

Hr: „Znaš koliko bi ovo značilo tvojoj baki.
En: "You know how much this would mean to your grandmother."

Hr: “ Mateo je shvatio vrijednost onoga što će donijeti doma.
En: Mateo realized the value of what he would bring home.

Hr: „U pravo si,“ rekao je uzdahnuvši, sada sa sigurnošću.
En: "You're right," he said, exhaling with certainty.

Hr: Kupili su tapiseriju, s osjećajem zadovoljstva i uzbuđenja koji ih je oboje ispunio.
En: They bought the tapestry, filled with a sense of satisfaction and excitement.
