Justice Rosalyn H. Richter
Judge Rosalyn Richter is one of the most respected attorneys in New York State. She is a former Associate Justice of the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court, First Department, one of the premier intermediate appellate courts in the United States. In that role, she presided over a diverse range of complex issues, including criminal and matrimonial matters. Before joining the appellate court, Judge Richter served as a trial judge for 19 years, overseeing criminal, civil, and family law cases, including matters that involve allegations of domestic violence.

As a scholar and leader in the legal community, Judge Richter serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School. Judge Richter also represents victims of domestic violence in court pro bono for the organization Sanctuary for Families, New York’s leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence. Judge Richter is currently Senior Counsel at the law firm of Arnold & Porter.
