Die Hard at a prep school sounds like a can't-miss idea. We end Father Malone Month, devoted to preparatory school films, with Toy Soldiers, Daniel Petrie Jr.'s 1991 action film that's completely different from the rest of the month in every way, including quality. Sean Astin stars as Billy Tepper, a prep school "bad boy" who rallies his friends when Andrew Divoff's terrorists seize their school, with Wil Wheaton, Keith Coogan, Louis Gossett Jr., and Denholm Elliott alongside. If you've ever wanted to see young teens take on hardened criminals, this should theoretically be the movie for you.
Father Malone of Dark Destination and Heather Drain of Mondo Heather join Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Toy Soldiers, Sean Astin's role, Wil Wheaton's Italian-ness, and so much more.
