Trish has over 18 years of experience working as a corporate and public health professional. Miller is passionate about the health and wellbeing of children and works to create equitable opportunities for their development.
Originally from Virginia, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Virginia, a Master of Business
Administration from the College of William and Mary, and a Master of Public Health from Emory University.
Her own near drowning experience as a teenager fueled her passion to overcome cultural social norms and ensure that she and other members of her community learn how to swim. This experience led to the creation of SwemKids, a culturally relevant swimming and water safety program focused on equipping black children with the skills to have a healthy and safe relationship in and around the water
Within its first year, SwemKids plans to teach over 1000 Black children in metro Atlanta Title I public schools how to be proficient swimmers. Trish lives in Atlanta, GA with her 13 year old daughter and 12 year old son.
Trish is a 2019 Spanx Sara Blakely Foundation Resident and a 2019 Center for Civic Innovation Fellow & Resident.
She has been featured in Radiant Health Magazine, NPR, and was a 2019 TEDx Atlanta speaker.
SwemKids has been recognized by the Georgia Senate for its work to reduce the drowning rates in our communities.
