Examines the intersection of ultrasound imaging and digital signal processing, highlighting the shift toward software-defined hardware. The sources focus on hardware-software partitioning, where programmable logic like FPGAs handles high-speed data acquisition while CPUs and GPUs manage complex image reconstruction. Case studies on the uScan high-frequency scanner and the digiTDS transcranial Doppler system illustrate how this balanced architecture optimizes diagnostic performance and system portability. Additionally, the text explores transducer design, specifically analyzing curvilinear array apertures like the Fermat Spiral to improve volumetric imaging resolution. By utilizing advanced mathematical modeling and thinning strategies, researchers aim to reduce manufacturing costs and electronic complexity without sacrificing signal-to-noise ratios. Ultimately, these documents demonstrate how modern computational power is revolutionizing the precision and accessibility of medical ultrasound technology.
